Split Bean Coffee is a Southern California based micro-roaster and distributor of fine coffees, dedicated to the promotion of Nicaraguan Coffees.
Why Nicaraguan coffees you may ask?
Nicaraguan coffees are highly underrated. They possess great body and balance, outperforming most other Latin American Coffees. Good Nicaraguan coffees are considered a "classic" cup by coffee connoisseurs: with great body, clean flavor, and balance. Nicaraguan coffees are unique among Central American coffees because the highest altitude grown crops (SHG grade: Strictly High Grown) do not develop the pronounced and sharp acidity of other Central American coffees. Nicaraguan coffees are unique among the Central Americans, with the closest "cup kin" being certain Colombians. |

Split Bean Coffee features Nicaraguan coffees
from the region of Matagalpa. Grown for us by a Fair Trade certified co-op, where Quality Control, the environment, and social responsibility are the cornerstones of their organization. Our Coffees are harvested at the optimal moment and carefully processed by independent farmers. Dried in the sun, selected and prepared for export in dry mills under strict quality guidelines. The result is a smooth, low acidity, nutty coffee. A fair trade product which assures that small-scale coffee farmers receive a just price for their product, and allows them to invest in the improvement of their standard of living as well as the quality of the coffee they produce. Our coffees are micro-roast to order daily and shipped via USPS Priority Mail within the US to assure that the coffee you purchase is the freshest possible roast. International orders are normally shipped using USPS Express Service, or your selected carrier. We highly recommend ordering just what would consume in 7-14 days to assure that the quality of the last cup is as good as the first. We invite you to enjoy our coffees and savor the difference. |

Split Bean Coffee was established as an alternative to the large
coffee purveyors that crowd our cities around the world, we have expanded to offer our handmade confections and carry a fine selection of Yerba Mate tea, a selection of Latin American Coffee blends, Handmade Artisan Chocolate Truffles, Marshmallows, Brittles, and our World Famous Handmade Dulce de Leche Shortbread Cookies - Alfajores La Misión available in over 8 original flavors. Our products have been featured in several local, national and international publications including The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Miami Herald, The Washington Times, Westways Magazine, Latina Magazine, The Oregonian, The Wall Street Journal, and Los Angeles Magazine. We take pride in handcrafting our confections and coffees in small controlled batches the day they are ordered. Taking our inspiration on how our grand-aunt Tita, and our elders used to craft sweets for our families in their days. We insist in only using ingredients that our Grandma would have used in her kitchen, and we don't use preservatives or fillers. Our policy is to only sell products that we would be proud to serve at our family table. |
