Savory Roads Catering is a division of Split Bean Coffee and owned by Chef Roger Navas-Balladares and Paul A. Stone. We provide catering services, party planning, and personal chef services for all occasions. We specialize in Iberian (Spanish, Portuguese) and Latin American cuisine, of which paella is our specialty. Our paellas services can be tailored for groups of 25 to 1,000. We cook the paella at your home, office, or event venue in front of all your guests to see.
Our cooking can be part of your guests’ entertainment. All of our paellas are gluten free, and can be modified to meet most dietary restrictions. A delicious vegan option is also available.
Our paellas are made with only the best ingredients like hormone free chicken, Doña Juana brand Spanish chorizo, authentic imported Valencia rice, jumbo shrimp and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Although we are located in sunny Southern California, there is nothing stopping our executive chef and his team of able chefs and staff from grabbing their passports, knife kits, and approns and hop on a plane for your special events. Our executive chef is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu and classically trained in multiple culinary disciplines and styles.
Trained in the classic French method of Le Cordon Bleu, and quite fluent in Mediterranean, Pan-Asian, Italian, and American culinary styles. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley, where he studied at the Institute for Latin American Studies, and is passionate about food history and the Columbian Exchange.
Aside from private chef and catering services, we also offer paella party services, and cooking party classes. Our paella party services come in the standard offerings on this page, or we can create a special menu for your event. We partner with several local Flamenco talent, and can put together a special Spanish fiesta for you.
